Significance: Annapolis buildings range from definitive 18th century grand Georgian houses, such as the Hammond Harwood and Paca houses, to 19th century row houses, grand to modest, to 20th century infill in lots not previously built upon. Cornhill Street, radiating from State Circle sloping toward the waterfront, added to the city plan in 1720 through a garden in the Nicholson Plan, is a fine example of an intimately scaled street of modest vernacular row houses dating from the 19th century. The buildings drawn her are #30 and #32 Cornhill Street. #30 was connected to #28, its adjacent neighbor to the east to form the single dwelling now known as the Sameul Hutton House.
