507 Eleventh Street, Northwest (Commercial), Square 347, Washington, District of Columbia, DC
Summary
Significance: Designed in 1932 (D.C. Building Permit No. 152470, April 16, 1932) by Edward Bullock, Jr., 507 Eleventh Street, NW, is a good example of the elegant, stripped classical storefronts constructed in Washington in the late 1920s and 1930s. M.E. Swing Company constructed this classical moderne building around the corner from their operation at 1013 E Street (HABS DC-792). The two buildings were for many years interconnected. 507 Eleventh Street housed their Polly Trent Candy Shop through the mid-1950s. The building contributes to the Pennsylvania National Historic Site.
