Print shows a birds-eye view of the city of Mainz, Germany with towers and other buildings on the shore of the Rhine and Main rivers. Also visible are boats in the harbor and a long boat with soldiers arriving from downstream on the Rhine as well as soldiers on horseback across the Rhine River from the town. Swedish troops under King Gustavus Adolphus took siege and captured the city of Mainz in December, 1631. Key details are identified labeled A-X in the print with a key at the bottom of the print.
