description

Summary

Significance: Two story brick over steel frame with a full height central waiting room, capped with the remnants of a stained glass skylight, glazed tile walls and shops around the perimeter. Built in 1924 between the Lehigh Valley Railroad and the Reading Line, this building stands on the site of an earlier union station. The building is vacant today and a victim of severe water damage. Plaster has fallen away from the ceiling and walls, destroying the station's frescoes.
