Big Creek Hydroelectric System, Powerhouse 3 Penstock Standpipes, Big Creek, Big Creek, Fresno County, CA

Significance: Three of the four powerhouse no. 3 penstock standpipes were constructed in 1923 during the Big Creek System period of significance (1911-1929). Their significance derives from association with the Big Creek Historic District as an original system component. The Big Creek System is significant as a classic example of hydroelectric engineering and technology, for its association with John S. Eastwood, Henry E. Huntington, and George C. Ward, and its contribution to development of the Los Angeles metropolitan Area.
