Blair's Ferry Storehouse, 800 Main Street, Loudon, Loudon County, TN
Summary
Significance: The Blair's Ferry Storehouse was erected ca. 1835. It is an excellent example of the type of structures that grew up with the river towns - the first major trading centers of the mid-south. Built to support a large riverboat trade, it has continued to operate as a retail store until recent years. It is one of the earliest extant examples of a storehouse built as such, rather than converted, in the region. It is a prominent local landmark and has been a center of much of the past economic activity of the surrounding countryside.
