Summary

Brian Diskin, business manager for IWU Local #380, reviews his personal background, his history as an iron worker, his union activities, the current state of the trade, and Local #380, as well as the iron workers' festival and strikes.
This interview was conducted at the 2011 Iron Workers Union National Convention in the Sheraton Hotel's Chicago River Exhibit Hall in downtown Chicago. We were literally inside the history exhibit display. The hall is very noisy and the interview area very boomy.
