Photograph shows British infantry soldiers crossing the bridge over the Yser canal at Boezinge, West Flanders, Belgium, August 5, 1917, during the Battle of Passehendaele during World War I. The bridge was constructed by the Royal Engineers after the British advance had passed the canal.
