Buffalo River Bridge, Spanning Buffalo River on U.S. Highway 65, Marshall, Searcy County, AR

description

Summary

Significance: The Buffalo River Bridge was the first major bridge to span the Buffalo River in north central Arkansas. It is one of the few specimens of the open spandrel concrete deck arch bridge type remaining in the State, and is situated in a beautiful natural setting. This is an excellent example of the bridge type and also of an institutionally designed structure.
