Summary
Calvin Kaintuck is an exercise rider who is still riding at the age of 83. He talked about his childhood and how he began to be a rider and the individuals who helped him along the way. He spoke about accidents and about handling horses. He talked about the work life. Calvin speaks briefly about his childhood in Baltimore and the influence of street peddlers.
The interview took place in the recreational hall, which is located in the same building as the backstretch kitchen. When we began the interview, the hall was empty, but by the end there were several people waiting to use the pool tables, who were reluctant to disturb us.
