Captain Axel W. Pearson, former merchant marine skipper, who represented the War Shipping Administration in the Russian ports of Murmansk and Archangel in 1942. He has reported on his experiences and work in Murmansk, chief port receiving American lend- lease supplies. Attacked three times by air and submarine on his trip from the United States to Murmansk, Captain Pearson experienced continuous day and night bombings by the Germans during his four-month stay in Russia
