Car pooling at Lockheed Vega. Here is part of the day shift leaving one of Vega's nine gates at the main plant. Note the high proportion of women workers. Getting these employees and their thousands upon thousands of brother and sister workers between home and plant is becoming a serious problem. Providing transportation to and from the plant for these employees and thousands of their fellow workers presents a problem which the company is attacking on three fronts: car pooling, busses and bicycles
