Summary

Significance: This is the only covered bridge remaining over the Wabash River. It is a landmark of historical passage for Indians and settlers and was used daily by buggies and cars. The bridge was built circa 1860. Arguments in 1948 and 1953 to demolish the bridge were finally defeated and renovation took place in 1963. Today it is within a 41 acre county park.
