Changing the signs / Victor. - Public domain portrait print

description

Summary

Print shows David B. Hill, outside a drinking establishment, hanging up a sign "For Governor" which bears an image of himself facing front, while Charles A. Dana holds the sign that was replaced "For President D.B. Hill" which bears a profile portrait of Hill. Across the street, Grover Cleveland is standing outside a drinking establishment labeled "Cleveland Shades." Cleveland was nominated again for president in 1892 and elected to that office, serving from 1893 to 1897.

Caption continues: Dave Hill. "Charley, that new Presidential sign was a dead failure. It didn't draw worth a cent! We'll put back this old sign which was always popular with the gang."
