Chicago schoolchildren buy 263,148.83 in war bonds. In a specialwWar bond Campaign which ended last month, the public school children of the South-Central District of Chicago purchased 263,148.83 in war bonds and stamps. The campaign was climaxed with a rally in Washington Park on June fourth, at which time a huge check representing enough money for 125 jeeps, two pursuit planes and motorcycle was presented to Major C. Udell Turpin of the Illinois War Bond Sales staff, representing the Treasury Department. Also participating in the excercises were representatives of the War Department
