Summary
Significance: Cochran Grange was built by John F. Cochran, the governor of Delaware from 1875-1879, and he resided here throughout much of his adult life. Cochran was one of the leaders in the development of peach growing in Delaware and eventually became the largest peach producer in St. George's Hundred. Cochran's interest in architecture is evidenced in the style of his house which is unique in the region. The house remains in the hands of the Cochran family.
