Non-ferrous materials are burned out and the steel chassis and bodies are sent on to scrap iron and steel dealers. Such yards as these supply tons of scrap iron, steel and rubber yearly which is now being used to alleviate shortages in vital defense materials (U.S. Route 1, Baltimore-Washington Highway, August 1941)
