Summary

Significance: One of the first generation log cabins of St. Elmo in well-preserved condition. The building illustrates several of the features typical of the early cabins: saddle notching, four over four windows, and the triangular, pediment-like window heads. Few other porches survive in St. Elmo; this one may be original to the cabin.
