Medium: Grenadilla, hardwood cap (originally covered with nickel silver, now missing), ivory (upper) head joint, bright nickel silver cork-setting mechanism, keys, and ferrules.; 69.3 cm.
Key Holes System: 13 keys, post and rod with modern style key cups.
Mark Maximum: BERTELING / NEW_YORK (on nickel silver plaque on body) // PAT APLD FOR
Condition: Upper head joint cracked, filled previously, repair now failed. Barrel also cracked and filled. Nickel silver head joint cap cover missing. Lower section, upper ferrule missing and replaced with brass.
Provenance: California Loan Co., Oakland, California, 11 Sept. 1917.
