description

Summary

Significance: No longer extant, this house was designed by Russell Warren and was constructed between 1803 and 1808. HABS recorded the building in the 1930s, capturing its appearance before its demolition later in the twentieth century. The house also was documented by the Garden Club for the 1924 publication, Gardens of Colony and State (I: 234 ) and for the White Pine Architectural Series (III, no. 5; VIII, no 5) in 1917.

At the time of the HABS survey, the building was described as having a rectangular main block with hyphens connecting to dependencies. It was covered by a low, hipped roof that was embellished with a lattice balustrade. Other details of note included the ball frieze in the cornice and elliptical heads over the doors and windows.
