Drew-Sherwood Farm, House, 7927 Elk Grove Boulevard, Elk Grove, Sacramento County, CA
Summary
Significance: The Drew-Sherwood House appears to be one of the best-preserved early farm houses, not just in the Elk Grove area, but rather in southern Sacramento County a rare surviving example of an early farm house in this rapidly-changing area. Other than the alteration of the front porch, the main facade of the Drew-Sherwood House, facing Elk Grove Boulevard, has changed little since it was built circa 1875, based on the 1880 engraving of the house depicted in a published county history. Its interior, somewhat more altered, nonetheless retains important character-defining details.
