Endicott-Johnson Workers Arch, Approximately 250' east of intersection of Bridge Street & Route 17c/Main Street, Endicott, Broome County, NY
Summary
Significance: The Endicott-John Worker's Arch is a physical symbol of the Welfare Capitalist policy of the Square Deal instituted by the management of the Endicott Johnson Corporation during the first two decades of the 20th century. The arch, one of a pair, was designed by T.I. Lacey, a noted Binghamton architect, and constructed in 1920 with funds contributed by the E.J. workers. The arches were dedicated to George F. Johnson, general manager of the company.
