Photograph shows view of buildings in Mecca including the Hamīdijjah, a government building constructed during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Abdülhamid II; the printing house and the Jiyād fortress in the background. Buildings in image no longer exist because the area has been expanded to accommodate pilgrims to the Hajj.
