Every visitor to Venice must buy corn from a rich peddler and feed the pigeons in front of St. Mark's Cathedral. Mr. Carpenter does his duty To drift through the canals of Venice is to know another side of life. At your hotel door is the waiting gondola or Venetian taxi, the gondolier in his wide black hat, white coat and beaming smile.
