Summary
Located near Portland's waterfront and built to accommodate the city's growing customs business. By 1866, Portland was one of the most significant seaports in the country. Designed under the direction of Alfred B. Mullett and constructed between 1867 and 1872, the building includes elements of the Second Empire and Renaissance Revival styles.
