Summary
Significance: The Fifth Street cobblestone pavement is a surviving vestige of Boonville's commercial prominence during the antebellum period. Located along a steep hillslope called Wharf Hill, the cobblestone street enhanced a thriving river trade by serving as the principal artery between the city's commercial district and the riverfront wharves.
