Fort McCoy, Building No. T-10122, Southeast corner of South Eighth Avenue & South "X" Street, Block 10, Sparta, Monroe County, WI
Summary
Significance: Building T-10122 is a Utility Shop, Type US-1. This is the only example of this type of building in the hospital area. Building T-10122 exhibits the traits that distinguish it as a World War II-era mobilization structure. This building is purely utilitarian in nature, and thus does not have any outstanding physical features. Instead, its significance stems from the fact that the building provided services essential to the management of the hospital plant; in it were housed support staff such as electricians, plumbers, carpenters, steamfitters, tinsmiths, and gardeners.
