Freak hail storm hits Capitol. Washington, D.C., April 29. A freak rain storm, bringing down pellets of hail as large as moth balls, descended on the Capitol today. The hail pellets pierced cloth auto tops as if they were made of paper-mache. Rep. Pat Boland of Pennsylvania, House Whip, is pictured as he dodged the hail stones on Capitol Hill, 4/29/38
