Summary

Significance: Two span Parker truss steel bridge across the Lehigh River and Lehigh Valley Railroad tracks. The bridge is 22 feet wide and 360 feet long with a perforated steel deck and one cantilevered sidewalk. Equal spans of seven panels each rest on cut stone abutments and a single stone pier in the Lehigh River. This bridge was built by the Groton Bridge Manufacturing Company, Groton, New York in 1896 on the site of a previous covered bridge. The engineer was J.M. Porter.
