Summary

Architectural drawing showing partial elevation of the front of the Boston Library at Franklin Place. Central pavilion of Tontine Crescent features pedimented central portico with in-antis Ionic columns framing Venetian window beneath a fanlight window; urns in flanking niches beneath garlanded circular motifs covered over by thin paper. Keystones sketched above openings flanking carriageway.
Inscription on verso (page 6) includes calculations and provenance stamp.
Drawing has not been definitively attributed to Bulfinch, but has sometimes been credited to him.
