Grain by the pound here. Montenegrins go to market and but sic the grain which they make into flour themselves with the aid of the old time mill. Certain sections of the little country are adaptable to wheat growing, particularly the level, rich country near the Albanian border but this year's crops are very slow owing to shortage of labor and food and no transportation. White flour sent from America and distributed by the American Red Cross was the first the people had had since the commencement of the war
