Summary
Significance: The home of Thomas Stone from 1770, when he purchased the property, until his death in 1787. Best known as a signer of the Declaration of Independence, Stone served in the Continental Congress from 1774-1778, and again in 1784. He was also active in forming the provisional government of Maryland, and served in the State Senate from 1776-1787. An irregular, 5-part Maryland manor, it reflects several stages of construction, the exact sequence of which is not currently known...
