Summary
Significance: This house is an exceptionally fine example of early residences in nineteenth-century Mobile. Substantially unaltered, the house is one of the oldest existing structures in the area. This structure, dated 1835-1838, is a fine surviving example in Mobile of a residential type commonly found in the Louisiana bayou country, that is, a wood frame cottage over a masonry ground floor.
