Hon. Wm. Halstead M.C. New Jersey, graduate of Princeton College in 1812, prosecutor of Hunterdon Co. 1833-37, elected as Whig 25th Cong (1837-39) again served 1841-43, many years as court reporter. Raised the 1st regiment of Calv. in N.J. for C.W. and served as colonel. Died in Trenton in 1878.
