Significance: This single-story frame cottage is one of the most recently built in the East End (Hampton Wedge) neighborhood, an area occupied primarily by blacks serving the households of the nearby town houses on St. Louis and Walnut Streets. Simply massed and detailed, it is typical of the architecturally undistinguished buildings in the area - a modest vernacular structure.
