Medardus [St. Medardus church in Wervik], Tienen, Brüssel [Brussels], Diest, Löwen [Louvain], Mechlin [Mechelen] in the distance Antwerpen [Antwerp]. On May 23, 1706, the Duke of Marlborough and allied English and Dutch armies fought joint Spanish, French and Bavarian forces near the village of Ramillies in Belgium. According to the caption on this print, there were 14,000 casualties, 6,000 prisoners were taken captive by the British and Dutch armies and an untold number of munitions, equipment and supplies were captured.
