Significance: A log cabin of the mid-1880's in good exterior condition, but also with an interior that illustrates the daily residential life of the miner: original wall coverings, furnishings, and appliances have been left undisturbed for some 60 years. Also illustrates the speculative cabin built as an investment. Was erected for rental by Augustus Helmer, a leading real estate dealer.
