Significance: The farmhouse, a small subsistance-type rural dwelling of mid-19th century Minnesota, is an example of pioneer architecture utilizing vertically arranged oak plants that are completely load bearing; no other known houses in Minnesota utilizing this type of vertical plank wall construction.
