Summary

Birds-eye view print shows battlefield with troops surrounding the fortress city of Landau (Landau an der Pfaltz), Germany. Four sieges of the city took place between 1702 and 1713, this print depicts the actions that took place in 1704 when Landau was taken back from the French by imperial allied forces. Visible in the foreground are troops on horseback and smaller groupings of 2-4 people around a tent. In the middle is a scene overlooking the battle, smoke rises from within the city walls, a panoramic view of the hills are in the background.
