Significance: These two explosive magazines were constructed for storage of dynamite used in the early phases of construction of Hoover Dam, possibly as early as 1931 for blasting the route of the Lower Portal Tunnel Access Road and the diversion tunnels on the Nevada and Arizona sides of the Colorado River
