Summary
Significance: It was constructed in 1938 to provide Hoover Dam electricity to Kingman and surrounding areas of Arizona. This is the only switchyard built entirely by a utility, rather than the Bureau of Reclamation,, and it is the only Hoover Dam switchyard on the Arizona side of Black Canyon, The switchyard has bee in continuous use since 1938.
