Summary
Significance: This house was built for Samuel Lucas, a local real estate speculator and longtime operator of a greenhouse/nursery business on Howard road. the house resembles, in plan, the narrow speculative dwellings built in the district in this period, but is slightly larger and features a brick first story and expansive verandah, the latter constructed to maximize the corner location.
