Summary
Significance: The cabin illustrates the wide spread practice among miners of erecting a log dwelling on public land, leased from the U.S. Government; perhaps viewed as more economical that building or buying in town. The exposed wooden shingles illustrate characteristic roof covering of early buildings. The doorway and window hoods are unique to this cabin.
