1990 Charles E. Peterson Prize, Entry
Significance: The Plaquemine City Hall is set behind the Bayou Plaquemine levee in the business district of Plaquemine. The building is five bays wide with a central attenuated pedimented portico of Doric columns. The building was constructed in 1848 when the police jury purchased the site. The project is significant in that it is the only fully developed Greek Revival structure in Plaquemine's central business district.
