Improved "Marmite" in Vienna. In Vienna, where 150,000 people are fed daily in public kitchens, on food sent from America, they have developed an improved vacuum can for hauling hot food to the feeding stations. It is possible to cart a load of soup clear across the great city and then serve it piping hot, several hours after it has left the kettles of the central kitchens. These boys are hauling one of the improved food carriers on their little wago. The food is being taken, in this casee, to a gang of laborers in the railroad yard, who were unloading American Red Cross supplies. By its shipments of hospital supplies the Red Cross has enabled a dozen hospitals to remain open for the treatment of sick women and children
