Summary
Significance: This is one of more than a dozen small bridges built to carry traffic across the lagoons and canals which crisscross Belle Isle, Detroit's major public park in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The use of elaborate decoration on the parapet wall is typical of the many small bridges on the island, designed to have aesthetic appeal.
