Significance: The James Ben Ali Haggin Barn, designed by New York architect, H.I. Copeland, was completed ca. 1902. This barn was one of three twelve-sided barns to be built on or near the site. This barn, least altered of the three, was originally built with only seven sides. The other five sides were added ca. 1930 and the building was fitted with a new poured concrete slab and foundation at the same time. The building originally had a wood foundation and a clay floors. The five sides added have concrete block walls. A significant feature of the barn is its unique shape and open courtyard plan.
