James Eldredge House, 40 Division Street, East Greenwich, Kent County, RI
Summary
Significance: The wood-frame, five-bay house is two and one-hlaf stories in height. Interior chimneys flank the gable monitor, and the visual focus at the center of the facade created by the monitor is carried at street-level by central entrance with its pedimented doorway. The interior woodwork, such as the turned balusters on the stair, wainscoting, and fireplace surrounds, is notable.
