John Fain Barn, Lone Oaks Estates, near State Route 126, Blountville, Sullivan County, TN
Summary
Significance: This barn was built by John Fain on his "Lone Oak Farm" in the 1890's. It is a very large heavy timber framed structure. It originally housed cattle and horses, and provided storage for hay and grain, and later was fitted out for drying tobacco. The Fain Barn attracted considerable attention when it was built, and it survives as one of the most impressive examples of this type of barn in the region.
