Significance: Stated to have been the oldest building in the Brunswick-Topsham area, structure was tavern on stage route from Brunswick to Bowdoinham, Richmond and beyond. Building was large unaltered; was in semi-collapsing condition in 1962. Original trim, paneling, exterior cornice and fenestration framing were typical of mid-18th century.
